Some updates on what I’ve been working on:
Leveraged AI to help create an aggregation script that I think I’ll be rolling out into an email newsletter. For now, it just outputs collected links that I’ve shared over the week into an MD file that gets included in my Personal Blog .
n8n has been great, and I’ll likely do a follow-up on just how it’s been working for me, but for now, I have some decent workflows with Bluesky -> Threads -> Discord all working. I have several other workflows I’d like to try, particularly with video syndication.
AdonisJS is something I still need to dedicate time to. I feel like I’ve been slacking on this goal. My main ambition here is to really learn a TypeScript-based, Rails-like MVC / convention-over-configuration framework.
May 29th - Just finalizing the purchase of our new home! Excited to be moving out West and super excited for everything Victoria has to offer.
Currently learning:
AdonisJS. I love Ruby and I love Rails, but there’s something nice about having the same language on both the front and backend.
n8n.io - a big chunk of all my custom scripts revolve around a cron that handles syncing data between two unconnected services or reacting to events. I love what IFTTT does, but I also can’t justify its price, and a lot of the time it just falls short. Using n8n to create real workflows seems like it would be a game-changer, and adding it to the homelab seems nice.
